Our Embassy in Copenhagen

Welcome to the British Embassy in Copenhagen. Here you can read about what we do and how to contact us.

Nick Archer is Her Majesty's Ambassador to Denmark

Our Ambassador, Nick Archer, is responsible for the direction and work of the Embassy. His main job is to maintain and develop the strong relationship between the UK and Denmark. This involves working on a wide range of political, commercial, security and economic questions of interest to the UK and Denmark. Nick Archer writes about his experiences as Ambassador in his blog in Berlingske and through articles and interviews in the Danish press.

You can contact the Ambassador through his PA Anja Andersen.

Consular and Visa Sections

We provide consular services for British citizens in Denmark and visa services for people wishing to visit Britain. Contact the Consular section.

Contact the Visa Section - the Visa Section is open between 09.00 and 11.00 Monday to Friday. Please note; by appointment only.

Government and Public Affairs Section

We work with the Danes on a wide range of political issues. With the Danish government hosting the UN COP15 in December 2009, one of our main focuses is climate change. We are also working closely with the Danes on responding to the financial crisis, minimising the threat from terrorism, building a strong and stable EU and on creating peace and security in Afghanistan. We explain UK policies to the Danish government, NGOs and media. We also report Danish views and policies to our government back in the UK.
